Who we are

The Faith Forum

  • Speaks out on public issues of mutual concern
  • Raises problems with the local council
  • Holds Open Forum Meetings (usually three a year)
  • Runs conferences and Training Day on particular subjects
  • Consults with people working with Faith Organisations
  • Cooperates with partners to further the work of Faith and Voluntary sector.
     

The Faith Forum Committee consists of:

  • One representative of Reading Muslim Council
  • One representative of The Sikh Gurdwara
  • One representative of the Reading Hindu Temple
  • One representative of Reading Hebrew Synagogue
  • Two representatives of Churches Together in Reading

Stronger Together

Is a consortium of Faith and Voluntary Sector Organisations.

The partners in the consortium are:

The Stronger Together Office is staffed by 3 part time Forum Coordinators who support the 4 Forums and a Development Worker for work with the Reading 2020 Local Strategic Partnership, funded by the BIG Lottery Fund.

Building for Strength

This is a new consortium of Faith and Voluntary Sector Organisations.

It aims to provide office space and development workers to work with less involved faith and voluntary groups. RFF have a part time Development worker, Tom Hudson.

The partners in the consortium are:

  • Reading Council for Racial Equality (RCRE)
  • Reading Voluntary Action (RVA)
  • Sakoma (The BME Forum)
  • Reading Faith Forum
  • Reading African and Caribbean Community Association
  • Reading International Solidarity Centre (RISC) (WEB)

Reading Faith Forum is part of the Stronger Together consortium of Fora (including The Forum, RCVYS, Sakoma, in addition to Reading Voluntary Action) that ensures that the voluntary and community sector is able to influence strategic decision-making.
